Why So Many Sports Articles?
Believe it or not, I never liked sports as a kid. I thought they were boring and pointless, but then I actually paid attention to them. Knowing the stories behind the players, the history of teams, and the impact that a given result has on a town, city or nation, make a sports story worth the read.
UTEP Men’s basketball basked in the new year by setting records. After home wins against C-USA preseason favorite LA Tech, and Sam Houston, the Miners sat with a 12-3 overall record, their best in 14 years, and an undefeated mark of 2-0 in conference play, the Miner’s first since the 2013-14 season. Personally, covering breaking events cover highlights of my year. Behind every story is an anecdote, a conversation, or a hysterical quote that I keep thinking about. But most importantly, my goal with each of these stories is to educate, and entertain in order to make people care about the actions and events that effect them.
